Friends Annual General Meeting

A warm welcome awaits at this year’s AGM. Come along to the small hall at school, 7:45pm, for a drink, nibbles and a chance to chat before we settle down to start at 8pm. Finance, fairs and the committee to be included in the agenda. If that isn’t exciting enough, please join us afterwards as we head down to the White Lion in Bramcote for a swift shandy or two!

Visit from the High Sheriff of Nottingham

On Sunday 3rd April 2016, the High Sheriff of Nottingham Judy Naake was installed. She invited some of the children from our school to sing two of their favourite Christian songs as part of the service at St Michael & All Angels Church. Led by Mrs Lee the children sang Lord you see me and The Lords my Shepherd. They performed brilliantly in front of a packed church and were thanked by many of the visitors attending the service.

Soup-er Soup!!

Following our RE topic on Charities, on Wednesday 16th March, for Christian Aid Class 6 worked in groups making and then selling soup.

One person in Class 6 quoted "it was really fun making soup, but at sometimes stressful. Our group name was the cracking carrot and coriander crew - the soup we made was very nice".

We spent the morning making a range of soups which took about an hour - the flavours were:

This week we have been learning all about "Fair Trade" and what that means. The children have been involved in a variety of activities from identifying where food comes from to the cost of the production. The children have been really engaged and have been struck by the moral issues that have been raised.

Our school is absolutely fantastic about clubbing together and doing amazing things. This week children staff and families worked together to raise a totally awesome £1700 for Children in Need. The children entered into the spirit of the occasion, dressing as Roald Dahl characters (to link in with our theme week on Authors). We had some very impressive Willy Wonkas, Fantastic Mr Foxes and Ompa Lumpa’s showing a massive amount of effort from parents and children. The kids looked great

School Parliament

As you know, this year Bramcote C of E have launched a brand new school parliament. This Friday our MPs had the privilege of meeting and chatting to Anna Soubry, Minister for Small Businesses and MP for Broxtowe.
Prime minister Elliot Fox and Deputy Prime minister Sam Norris, showed Anna around school and introduced her to the staff. The whole school parliament then met for a question and answer session. Anna was very impressed by the politeness and maturity of all MPS from year 6 all the way ...

Fireworks Extravaganza - Thurs 5th Nov 5.30-7.30pm

The Friends of Bramcote C of E are excited to be holding our Annual Family Fireworks Extravaganza this year in conjunction with the 2nd Bramcote Scouts. We have a fabulous firework display lined up and will have a BBQ, jacket potatoes and mushy peas as well as hot chocolate with cream and sprinkles to keep you warm. Although we can’t guarantee the weather, the rain hasn’t dampened our spirits in previous years so I’m sure we will have a wonderful evening again.
