WOW - WE RAISED £1700 FOR CHILDREN IN NEED
17 November 2015
Our school is absolutely fantastic about clubbing together and doing amazing things. This week children staff and families worked together to raise a totally awesome £1700 for Children in Need. The children entered into the spirit of the occasion, dressing as Roald Dahl characters (to link in with our theme week on Authors). We had some very impressive Willy Wonkas, Fantastic Mr Foxes and Ompa Lumpa’s showing a massive amount of effort from parents and children. The kids looked great
Our day started with signed book auction, ably and humorously chaired by our Prime minister and Deputy Prime minster. We had a good selection of books for both adults and children as well as signed photograph and artwork. This was closely followed by a second hand book sale as well as a cake sale at the end of the day.
It is such a privilege to know that our children have contributed to providing things like respite care, community centres and much needed medical treatment for Children across this country.
As a reward for this outstanding achievement, our teacher performed a range of forfeits (also on the theme of Roald Dahl) including, dizzy penalties, baths in chocolate rivers, drinking a rather disgusting looking marvellous medicine mix and eating “worms”, to name just a few. The staff were really good sports and the children loved it. Well done to all
