Trip to Dovedale
22 May 2017
On Tuesday 16th May Class 4 went on an amazing trip to Dovedale in the Peak District. Despite the wet weather, we all had a great time and learnt so much about the geography of the area.
We were split into two groups which were led by National Park Rangers. We learnt about wind speed and direction, fossils and limestone. Sadly, because it was so wet, we were unable to climb Thorpe Cloud as planned because the limestone was so slippery. We did climb Hampston Hill though and had a great view from the top.
At the end of our walk, we were able to cross the River Dove on the famous stepping stones. Fortunately, nobody fell in the river! We had a fabulous day and our rangers thought we were amazing!
