Class 1 have settled very quickly into the new term and are working incredibly hard!

The children have particularly enjoyed their topic this half term-Transport.

Over the summer holidays they got started by creating models of types of transport. We were amazed at the variety of ideas and techniques the children used!

They have been finding out about how and why transport has developed over the years, they have learned about transport inventors and have created their own transport time-lines.

In art they have been creating transport scenes including very effective stencilling of vehicles-please look at the display in our classroom!

We were so pleased to have based this term's trip around our topic and last week had a super trip to the British Motor Museum. The children had a wonderful time. They explored the development of transport through role play and dressing up, they learned how the very first motor cars worked and even got to go on a Victorian bus!

The children were great ambassadors for the school. They were well behaved, listened carefully, thoughtfully tried to answer questions and consequently got a lot out of the day...if only the traffic had been kinder we would have had even more time there.

Thanks to the parent helpers who accompanied us and made the day run smoothly!

Half term is fast approaching so we hope the children and their families enjoy a well earned rest.
