Tideswell Dale Explorers
27 May 2016
Class 4 had a fantastic, sunny day exploring the glorious Peak District. We became 'Dales Explorers' for the day, finding out how the Dales have been created over time and searching for bugs and plants.
The sun shone all day as we looked for evidence of fossils, rocks and the path of the water.
We wobbled across the crystal clear stream and went into a small cave, where we touched the damp walls and saw the stalactites forming on the roof.
In the meadow we lay on our tummies and looked for the different plants that grow in the Dales. Darcy discovered a plant, moonwort, the rangers didn't know was there! Tideswell is special because lots of early purple orchids grow there.
It was fantastic to be outside all day in the countryside.
