As you know, this year Bramcote C of E have launched a brand new school parliament. This Friday our MPs had the privilege of meeting and chatting to Anna Soubry, Minister for Small Businesses and MP for Broxtowe.
Prime minister Elliot Fox and Deputy Prime minister Sam Norris, showed Anna around school and introduced her to the staff. The whole school parliament then met for a question and answer session. Anna was very impressed by the politeness and maturity of all MPS from year 6 all the way to our Year 1 representatives. The parliament did have some challenging questions for Anna, including asking about school testing, her opinions on Europe and building on green belt land. The children all raised concern about park facilities and road safety in and around Bramcote and she has promised to contact the local councillors on our behalf.
All in all, this was a fantastic opportunity for the children to find out about government life and gave our MPs a big insight into how they can personally make a difference to their community.
