I am sure some of you wonder actually what happens on an INSET day. I heard this week that someone as a child always thought these days were INSECT DAYS and thought that teachers would bring their insects to school! Well after the wonderful Christmas holiday the staff gathered on Monday to learn about computer programming. One of the requirements of the new national curriculum is children begin to learn how to program on a computer. On Monday we were joined by a team from Capital One in Nottingham. One of these was Mr Mistry who is a parent here at Bramcote C of E. They very helpfully taught us the basics of using ‘Scratch’ a program that we will be using with some of our Key Stage 2 children later this year. It was fantastic to learn together new skills that we will now be able to pass onto the children. I would like to extend my thanks to Mr Mistry and Captial One for spending the time preparing for and delivering the session.
