Our First Half Term

07 October 2016

The children have had a wonderful few weeks settling into reception and school life in general.

They have been finding out about many different things!

The highlight of this half term has to be our trip to the British Motor Museum!

Reception had a fantastic time at the British Motor Museum! We had lunch just after arriving (a little late!) and then moved onto two different activities!

First, we climbed aboard a 90 year old London Double Decker 🚌! (The children made sure the grown ups didn't bounce on the seats!) The bus had very big wheels - bigger than lots of the children in our class!) 😄

Did you know, the bus didn't have a roof or windscreen wipers?😲

We also found out that if you go to London and get the number 36 bus, you will be able to follow the same route as the bus in the museum used to do!

Next, we all went to see some very strange cars 🚗 . We noticed that there were a lot of things that were different to the cars we have today. There wasn't a steering wheel, windscreen, wipers, pedals or roof on the first one - there was even a wheel missing, it only had three!

The other cars were a little newer and they had doors and steering wheels, but still no roofs! 🚘

🏠 Home time seemed to come around very quickly and it was soon time to hop back on the bus and head home! 🚌

Thank you to all our parent helpers, and all the parents/carers who waited patiently for our return at school. 🏫

We are looking forward to watching the children grow and develop in their learning in the next half term!
