Nature Club

04 March 2015

Bramcote’s Nature Club meets weekly after school on Wednesdays, led by Mrs Renton. We do a mixture of activities including nature inspired craft, learning more about the animals and minibeasts in our local environment and looking after the nature area and pond area and the animals that live in them. Here are some comments by club members:
“In Nature Cub I really enjoyed painting with nature. We used berries, grass, mud and petals. It was very good fun. I am looking forward to making paper again and snail racing!”
“In Nature Club we studied woodlice and looked at their exoskeletons. We also filled in a booklet about them.”
“At Nature Club we make lots of things like: bird feeders, Christmas stars out of twigs, we painted with nature, we made animals from pinecones and a block of wood. I liked painting with Nature, I am also looking forward to snail racing! At nature Club we do lots of things to help nature (clue in the title!) It is very fun at nature Club and I enjoy it lots."
Do you know what animal is a crustacean, carries its eggs in a marsupium and conglobulates to protect itself from predators? If not, ask a nature club member!
Nature Club restarts in June , when we will make paper, race snails, make a corncrake crekker and look after our resident frogs.
