FANTASTIC "BIG FAIR TRADE BREAKFAST"
12 February 2016
This week we have been learning all about "Fair Trade" and what that means. The children have been involved in a variety of activities from identifying where food comes from to the cost of the production. The children have been really engaged and have been struck by the moral issues that have been raised.
They have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the designing and production of various fair trade breakfast items like bread, smoothies, porridge, muffins etc. This was enjoyed by the children, parents and staff at our "Fair Trade Big Breakfast." We raised a fantastic £240 to send to the "Trade Craft Foundation" which is a Christian run charity supporting Fair Trade for all.
St Michael and All Angels Parish Church, Bramcote joined in by bringing along "Fair Trade" items and produce to sell and raised an additional £200.
Mrs Smith and Mrs Willan from St Michael's commented that they had been around a few schools in the past two years and "Had never seen anything as great as this!"
WELL DONE to everyone involved what an amazing effort!
