Out and About in Bramcote

Out and About in Bramcote

Class 3 had a great time learning about the history of our local area this morning. We were given a guided tour of Bramcote Village by Mrs Robinson, who we all agreed is very knowledgeable.
We saw many buildings of interest and learnt about what they were used for in the past, such as The Ivy House, Broomhill Terrace and the Almshouses.
We are looking forward to finding out more back at school through looking at some old photographs....

Volcanic Eruptions

Volcanic Eruptions

What an exciting afternoon we had today! After many lessons of creating and painting our very own volcanoes we finally got to watch them erupt. We could barely contain our excitement as one after the other they bubbled and fizzed and the 'lava' ran down the sides!...

Class 3 Prayer Encounter

Class 3 Prayer Encounter

Class 3 took part in 'Prayer Encounter'. We learnt about the difficulties refugees face while sitting in a inflatable dingy and then we prayed for them. Archaeological Glory!

Archaeological Glory!

Fortunately we had Mr Challis-Smith, who is a real archaeologist, helping us, so our finds were examine...

Amazing Archaeology with Class 3

Class 3 are all very excited this term – our topic is Stone Age to Iron Age. We all had so many questions that needed answering when we found out just how far back in history the Stone Age started. What did the people look like? What did they wear? Where did they live? What did they eat? The list goes on.
However, we realised that finding information about this period of history is rather tricky because there are no written accounts of what happened, no pictures and certainly no people alive...

A Busy Start to the New Term!

What a busy start to the new term! Class three and I have been working really hard the past few weeks and have so much to say.
The highlight of the first week was definitely persuading Mr Boggington of Onions R US not to build his new factory on the school field. This preposterous idea spread like wildfire throughout the school building and, as a result, nearly every child became incensed at the preposterous proposal. Every child worked really hard and came up with some great arguments against ...
