Class 2's trip to Nottingham Castle

27 January 2016

Class 2's topic this half term is Robin Hood. We went to Nottingham castle and were very pleased when we spotted him straight away...but he was made out of wicker. We spent the morning with a really interesting lady called Ray, who taught us all about the animals that would have been in Sherwood Forest and what life would have been like for Robin Hood, Maid Marian and the Merry Men. We made masks and did a dramatic soundscape while Ray told us a story of Robin Hood. After lunch in the very exciting gatehouse, we spent the afternoon in the 'hood in the wood' gallery, playing at life in Sherwood Forest. Friar Tuck was there and he told us lots of exciting tales. Oh and of course, we went to the shop. A great day had by children and adults alike!
