Last week class 2 had a brilliant day at Nottingham Castle as part of our work on Robin Hood. We spotted him straight away! In the morning we had a look around the Hood in the Wood gallery, completing a treasure hunt – we found King Richard, Little John and even Robin Hood himself! Autumn Curriculum Week

Our Autumn term curriculum week had a very Shakespearean theme. We looked at the play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Class two particularly focused on the fairy characters, Oberon, Titania and Puck. Puck quickly became a class favourite! We had a go making frothing fairy potions, following a recipe to create magical biscuits and making our own fairy characters using a variety of autumnal leaves. Learning about Australia

Learning about Australia

Class 2 have had a fantastic start to the year. This term we have been learning all about Australia! We have been looking at Aboriginal art and have created our own work in the Aboriginal style. We have also been looking at the Australian dreamtime stories, and thoroughly enjoyed our visit from Steve Stickley. He told us the story of Tiddalik the Toad and how he drank all the water. Class 2's topic this half term is Robin Hood. We went to Nottingham castle and were very pleased when we spotted him straight away...but he was made out of wicker.
